the zoo part two.

I woke up this morning with a hangover... (?!)

Apparently this is what happens to me when I've had a 2 year hiatus 

from alcohol and have more than one drink.  

I just skip the buzz, the flush, all of it, and head straight to the best part.

But I digress.

We went back to the zoo this weekend.

I hoped that it wouldn't be too busy, since I imagined everyone out of town, at their cottages.

I was wrong.

All of the like-minded cottage-less people decided to go see some pandas too.

Or maybe at all of the people who are blocking her view of the pandas.

(I feel the latter, based on that pout...)

You have to wonder where she gets that expression from.

It was even better than the first time because she was even more alert and aware, and was super excitedly pointing at all the animals.
She even went on the merry-go-round.  Which if you saw my Instagram video,
was about the best $3 we have ever spent.

I know this is turning into a total photo dump, but two more.

Because on the way back to the car, I took one of my favourite shots as of late (and maybe ever).

Perfectly epitomizes our girl right now.

I hope she stays this happy forever.

Eating is also serious business.

It's been a year since we were here last.

long weekend bits+pieces.

I'm a little late (what's new) but I have a teething child who's been waking up between 2-4am 

and can't fall back asleep.

Nothing refreshes your appreciation for a full-night's sleep like standing in the dark for 1&1/2hr 

every night trying to sway a baby back to sleep.

Even though I complain (sometimes a lot), I'm also kinda loving it.

Cause she's growing out of the baby stage so fast, I know it won't be long 

before she doesn't need me to rock her back to sleep.

Anyways, back to the weekend.

It was great weather, and busy but not too busy.

I even got to see a movie!

Big deal? Yes, if the last time I went to the theatre I was still pregnant. 

Other activities included, but not limited to:

Practicing walking.

Swinging!

Toronto Ribfest... about 200% more crowded than a few years ago.

With three kids, a stroller, and a wagon, it was definitely an experience.

Food, then rides.  An obvious sequence of events.

birthday weekend.

A happy birthday weekend for papa.

Chocolate is the way to his heart.

On your birthday, you get to eat cupcakes for breakfast.

Bean celebrated too, by showing off her new straw-drinking skills.

(Oh thank goodness he stopped after 3... although he snuck in 2 the night before... 

and then ate another one later this evening)

...and then we went to the zoo.

Someone was very excited about it.

(actually she was more excited about holding the map)

Perfect spring weather.

And Sunday brunch with friends.

Someone was way too interested in the band to eat.

That girl loves music.
