hi, i'm still here.

3 internet-free weeks,
1 trying-to-recover-from-jetlag week,
and a mid cold/teething/allergies week.
So hi.
It's been a while.

Poor papa had to work while we spent 3 weeks in Japan,
but it was nice to catch up with friends and family,
and eat.
 Eat A LOT.
Thank goodness I'm still breastfeeding.
And also, carrying Bean is like doing weight training all day.

Now please enjoy a small photo dump of our time in Japan.
(it's "small", considering I took a few hundred pictures)

And a small kudos to myself and Bean for flying back from Japan by ourselves.
Total flight time: 15&1/2 hours
2 Transfers
2 Carry-on bags (+ stroller)
2 Checked bags
and ZERO people who offered to help.
A picture of my flying champion, who didn't even cry once during any of the flights.
Don't mind that she was over the weight limit for the bassinet.
She still chillaxed in it and even took a few naps.
She's a pro.

such is life.

Trying to fix Bean's sleep schedule,
missing my mama's cooking,
keeping SP quarantined due to some unknown stomach bug,
and running on 3-4hrs sleep/night.
Yup, back to reality and our family of three.
Three weeks with jiji and baba went by too fast and Bean learned a lot of new "tricks" while we were away.
Rolling over (occasionally if she feels like it).
Sitting by herself and loving it (even though she slowly starts to topple forward - that big head of hers,
full of brains).
A new high pitched giggle that doesn't come out very often, but we all go crazy over it when it does.
And generally a lot more chatty.

Some highlights from the fun times.
Learning to roll over with jiji.
Doesn't always work though.
Trying out the exersaucer.
"Whatcha doin' in that little thing papa...?"
Sitting like a big lady.
Filling papa in on all of the fun things she'd been up to.
Being musical with baba.
(just realized that she's in the same jammies in all of the pictures expect for the last - she wore more than 2 pjs... in fact, half of the large suitcase coming home was filled with her new clothes)

And then she flew home like a champ.

hello from out west.

Yes, I have been slacking off.
Bean and I left poor papa to work and flew out west to see jiji & baba.
Being fed by your mama is a glorious thing,  no matter how old you are,
even when you've become a mama yourself.
Kudos to my girl for being so good during the flight, even though we were stuck on the sold out plane for an extra hour (totalling about 7 hours in that tiny seat).  Thank you Edmonton for all that snow/ice.
A small kudos to myself for fitting everything into one carryon and managing to hold/feed Bean without exposing a nipp to the large dude (2 large dudes) sitting next to us.
Oh, and for managing to change diapers in the ridiculously small airplane bathroom without any accidents.  We barely fit.  Seriously.  I can't imagine being in there when she gets any bigger.
*lip sweat*

Bean is getting so much attention and hugs from the grans, we may be in trouble when we go back home and she realizes that mama has to do more than just play and hold her all day...
We'll just enjoy it for now though.

Happy weekend everyone!
